Learn more >Since 2001, we’ve grown from 250 cows to 336 Holstein Friesians producing over 8,400 litres of milk annually.
Along the way, we’ve invested in renewable energy, modern animal housing, and improved land management. Our journey is rooted in a commitment to doing things better—for our animals, our land, and the farming community.
In addition to producing exceptional milk, Rhual Dairy offers high-quality livestock raised with the same care and dedication that defines everything we do.
Our livestock are healthy, well-looked after, and raised in a calm, low-stress environment.
Our Livestock:
We’re always looking for ways to do things better. Whether it’s trying new ideas on the farm or teaming up with others in the industry, we believe there’s always room to grow.
That’s why we work closely with researchers, vets, and other farmers to share ideas and keep improving. Together, we’re building a stronger, more sustainable future for farming.
What we're doing:
Biodiversity thrives alongside our farming. We’ve created a haven for wildlife, with swallow and swift boxes complementing natural nesting sites. Kingfishers grace the riverbanks, and barn and tawny owls are regular visitors to the farmyard. Alongside them, muntjac deer, pheasants, buzzards, and even otters, foxes, and badgers call our land home.To support the environment and combat climate change, we’ve introduced sustainable land practices.
Herbal leys in our grazing grounds reduce the impact of hot weather by improving grass resilience. After maize harvests, we sow cover crops to reduce soil erosion, improve soil structure, and capture carbon.
We take pride in balancing productive farming with a thriving ecosystem, ensuring both our animals and the surrounding wildlife can flourish. Our commitment to biodiversity is matched by our dedication to showcasing the best of our herd at local agricultural shows.
We’re passionate about connecting with our community in North Wales. From festive bale sculptures each Christmas, like our corgi for the Queen’s Jubilee, to welcoming visitors on Open Farm Sunday, we love sharing farm life.
Through school visits and the Farmer Time programme, we inspire the next generation with hands-on insights into modern farming and sustainability. These connections help us celebrate, educate, and strengthen the bond between agriculture and the local community.
Our work hasn’t gone unnoticed. Rhual Dairy was the first Strategic Dairy Farm in Wales, and has received various awards including:
